Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0: Return of the Ancients is almost here! A lot of new gameplay features were released recently, but which class and build do you plan to use to experience all of them?

IGGM highly recommends Titan Shield Wall Build for the early game. Titan is Ascendancy class of Warrior. This build is recommended because it has various advantages.

Next, IGGM will introduce this build in detail from three aspects: class selection, core equipment, and skill combinations.

Why choose Titan?

In PoE 2, Warrior is a melee class that excels in strength and constitution. The core characteristics of this class are: the ability to actively block with a shield, high health and armor, and proficiency in skills that deal area damage and stun effects.

Simply put, a Warrior is the character in the party who can withstand the most damage. For the early game of Patch 0.5.0, choosing a class that is not easy to die from will make the game experience much more enjoyable.

Why choose Titan, an Ascendancy class? Its stun ability is strong, making it easier to stun enemies and then deal massive damage while they are stunned; its aoe skills are more powerful, with some skills dealing secondary area-of-effect damage; and its defensive capabilities are excellent: it has powerful passive skills that increase armor and health regeneration, enhancing its defensive abilities.

For players in the early stages of the game, the most important thing isn’t dealing flashy damage, but rather avoiding being easily killed by monsters – the longer you survive, the more new mechanics you’ll understand. This is why IGGM recommends choosing Titan in Return of the Ancients.

Core Gear

Gear is the foundation and focus of any build. The gearing logic for this Shield Wall build is very simple and straightforward – massively stack Armor.

This is because in PoE 2 Patch 0.5.0 Return of the Ancients, there is a significant change to Armor mechanic: the total amount of Armor provided by gear and affixes has increased.

Based on this logic, IGGM recommends the following two pieces of equipment:

Nightfall

Nightfall is a new shield added in Patch 0.5.0. Why this shield? Because its base stats are very comprehensive, making your character much tankier.

Furthermore, it comes with a cool-looking skill that allows you to throw the shield and deal massive damage to enemies, turning the shield itself into a powerful weapon.

Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler

Its name sounds strange, but it’s an extremely powerful weapon.

Its core mechanic is to apply additional fire damage based on your Strength stat. Since Titan Passive Skill Tree has many nodes that increase Strength, and Shield Wall build already stacks a high Strength, this weapon is perfect for it. When Strength is combined with this weapon, your damage will be greatly increased.

It’s worth mentioning that Brutus’ Lead Sprinkler can be obtained by trading with other players for POE2 currency.

Besides shields and weapons, rings and gloves also need attention. Two affixes are particularly important: Attack Speed and Life Regeneration Rate, which allow you to continuously regenerate health during combat.

Most of the above equipment can be obtained in-game through currency trading with other players. However, accumulating currency at the beginning of a new patch is not easy. You can directly buy cheap POE 2 Currency from IGGM for easily trading. We offer the fairest prices and fastest service, allowing you to quickly obtain a complete set of endgame gear.

Core Skils

If you want to complete Shield Wall build in PoE 2 Patch 0.5.0 Return of the Ancients, IGGM recommends using the following skills:

Shield Wall

Shield Wall is the core burst skill of this build, specifically designed for fighting bosses or dealing with elite monsters. When you use this skill, your character slams their shield into the ground, creating an incredibly hard wall in front of them.

This wall not only protects you from damage, but you can also choose to detonate the wall segment, causing explosive damage to enemies in front of and around you.

The explosion damage depends on Armour value of your shield. Therefore, as mentioned above, you can use currency to trade for gear that provides a high amount of Armor, thereby increasing the damage of this skill.

Resonating Shield

This is one of the core skills for Shield Wall Build in Patch 0.5.0 Return of the Ancients, and also the most frequently used skill for daily monster hunting. Its effect is to repeatedly strike your shield with your weapon, generating outward-spreading shockwaves that continuously deal area-of-effect damage to all surrounding enemies.

Furthermore, each time this shockwave hits an enemy, it destroys the target’s Armor, making your enemies weaker over time.

Fortifying Cry

This is one of Shield Wall Build’s survival pillars. As the name suggests, it causes you to let out a battle cry and provides you with a shield. When your shield attacks deal damage, shield emits a powerful shockwave.

Infernal Cry

This is a skill that increases fire damage and can be used alternately with Fortifying Cry. It also causes you to let out a battle cry, but the effect is different: it puts enemies into a Destabilized state. Destabilized enemies, upon death, become corpse weapons that immediately explode or burn, dealing fire damage to surrounding enemies.

Additionally, Infernal Cry converts 25% of your melee attack damage into bonus fire damage, so IGGM recommends using this skill in conjunction with Molten One’s Gift.

This concludes IGGM’s recommended Titan Shield Wall Build. As mentioned above, this build is best suited for the early stages of Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0 Return of the Ancients, offering powerful defensive and offensive capabilities, ensuring you won’t fear any unknown dangers or new challenges.
